ANGELA'S APPLEYARDS
Welcome to Angela's Appleyards. I've been keeping ducks for over five years, but after falling in love with my Miniature Appleyards, I started to breed them just over a year ago. I am a hobby breeder and keep all my ducks free ranging around the garden, with plenty of water to swim and splash in. They are fed on organic breeders/layers pellets and like nothing more than an afternoon treat of corn and fresh greens.
We are located in the village of Sherborne St John, just North of Basingstoke, with easy access from the M3 and M4.

ABOUT MINIATURE SILVER APPLEYARDS
Reginald Appleyard of Suffolk was the inventor of the UK Bantam ducks. He bred the large breed Silver Appleyard in the 30's and 40's, then produced the Silver Bantam from a cross between a White Call duck and a Khaki Campbell drake. These ducks became very popular in the 1980's, when Tom Bartlett developed the Miniature Silver Appleyard which was a direct smaller replica of the large Silver Appleyard. Although slightly bigger than a call duck, they are far less noisy, and, because they are easily tamed and hardy, they make excellent back garden pets. They lay beautiful green eggs, and can produce up to 200 eggs per year.
